Blackjack Card Counting

Card counting is not about memorizing all the cards that have been dealt from the deck. Card counting also does not turn players into magicians that can predict which card will come out next.

Card counting is merely information that is given to players that indicates if the deck still has more aces and/or face cards. If a player can have an inclination of this it will be a great advantage.

It is truly helpful for a player to learn how to count cards. Mastering card counting reduces the advantage of the casino and increases the chances of player's winning odds.

Basically there are two methods in card counting. The first one is difficult to master since it will take so much of your time and work for it, it is "true card counting". Second is the "casual card counting", this one is easy to learn and do.

Card counting must be taken seriously if you want to learn how to take advantage of it.

The following are some different systems of card counting based on the two main methods:

1. Hi-Low System

This is currently one of the most famous systems of card counting that is using the point count system. This is called the Hi-Low system.

This card counting system is based on distributing a value of point of +1, 0 and -1 to every dealt card.

The value of -1 is given to Aces and 10s, 0 is for cards 7, 8, 9 and +1 is for cards 2, 3, 4, 5 and then 6.

Mentally you will run this system in your head, this is also called running count. To get the "true count", divide the "running count" to the number of cards left to be dealt.

This system will require lots of time to practice and master.

2. Casual Card Counting System

This is a normal type of card counting. This will not require players to concentrate much or do a lot of calculations and it only uses a little space in your memory bank.

This type of system can give players a slight advantage but it won't guarantee a sure win.

3. Cluster Counting System

This is the method of identifying the probability of high point cards that are being dealt which of course can be an advantage to a player. You may call this system "cluster counting" or "shuffle tracking".

Players are observing the cards which flock together in one part of the shoe deck. In shuffling players can track the cards so he or she may get an idea of where the cards will land.

The most important thing is to observe which part of the deck has the high points and the aces.

The "not so good" part about this system is that shuffle tracking or cluster counting is very difficult to master and casinos are taking precautions to defeat the effectiveness of this system.

Casinos make use of automated shuffling machines to avoid this system, however, for traditional shuffling of cards this can come in handy if you master it.
